I had a torn soccer ball
that my mom gave me
when I was a child in Nepal.
I remember playing with friends
in the field near the jungle.
One time, suddenly, an elephant
came out from the jungle and we scattered.

I left my soccer ball in Nepal,
so I feel sad like I left my best friend.
I wish my soccer ball will be found
by my neighbors. so they can play
with it like I used to do.

Sometimes when I play soccer here,
I feel like I’m playing with my old ball
in the field near the jungle.
And I’m excited as if maybe
there is an elephant in Akron.
